Description

City Point July 15th /64

Dear Father & Mother.

As I have not heard from you for several weeks I thought that I would write a few lines to you. I am in good health, and hope these will find you the same. The fourth I spent on my way to Washing. with a load of wounded. We laid her about a week and then got a load and took them to Fort Mon. and then went to Norfolk and coaled up. Genl. Grant came on board last night. We expect to get loaded today but where we are to go to is more than I can say. If you do not hear from me very often you must not be worried. The State of Maine has taken a load to Boston. I received a letter from Aunt Sarah. I am well. But I must close.

Yours
G. Murray
